Troubleshooting – PayPal Requires More Information

When updating your site’s cart/code base you might get a message that PayPal requires more information. This is usually solved by signing into PayPal.com then going to your Account Profile (top right) and finding the Payment Preferences tab.

The area highlighted in the screenshot below shows where PayPal is asking for more info…

If asked about Executives/Beneficial Owners:

Within the Account Owner Information, if you are prompted to enter info about the Executives or Beneficial Owners, the choices are typically..

  1. Do you own 25% or more of the business.
  2. Are you authorized to make high level decisions

Choose the 2nd option. You might then be prompted for a contact email and phone number for customer service.

Where else you might be missing info…

From the main info screen, look for a prompt right below the Welcome back text…

From your Account Profile, under the Payment Methods section, look for Expanded Checkout and click the Get Started button.

From there you may see a screen like this asking for a contact email and phone number.

That might be all you need to do!
